Fredericksburg is one of the only places in Texas known for its wineries. When I recently visited, we stopped by Grape Creek Vineyards which offers wine tasting and tours. We did 5 tastings for $12 and it was such a fun experience. We felt like true wine connoisseurs tasting & learning about the different types of wine. Red for me, please!
Several companies do tours that allow you to winery-hop without worrying about how you’re going to get home safely. Check out 290 Wine Shuttle.
It’s so fun to pop into the shops along and around Main Street. We loved Da Peach Haus, which is just off of Main street. It houses a peach orchard and a store. We had the chance to try so many unique sauces and ingredients. You can even taste their specialty, peach wine! There are a variety of shops to look around in for the evening. Main street is especially charming in the winter, when the town is decorated for Christmas!
I recently brought my friend Layla with me to Fredericksburg for the day and she kept saying that she felt like she was really on vacation. It’s such change of pace from the bigger cities. from. If you’re live in Texas or plan on visiting, you have to road-trip to Fredericksburg for at least a day! You’ll be so glad you did.
